At only 19 years old, Lil Yachty has deemed himself the leader of his crew, created his own genre of music, modeled in Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 show, was the face of Nautica’s exclusive line for Urban Outfitters in November, was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 along with Bryson Tiller, Justine Skye, Tory Lanez, etc., has been NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY, and now serves as Nautica’s Creative Director. You can say what you want about his “bubblegum trap” but like any other successful person you’re not too fond of, you have to respect the hustle. With Nautica’s heavy influence on the young rapper’s brand, it’s no surprise that they have decided to collaborate with him. In a press release, Karen Murray, president of Nautica, and Lil Yachty both expressed their excitement for the collaboration. With Karen calling Lil Yachty a “creative soul” and Lil Yachty claiming Nautica as something that is “a part of him,” I’d say this partnership was a match made in heaven.
