Atlanta Rapper, Shawty Lo, was killed in a fatal car crash this morning after being ejected from his vehicle. The accident resulted in the car catching on fire after hitting two trees. Originally reported as a hit and run, further investigation revealed that the crash involved only one vehicle.
Shawty Lo was a member of D4L, a group that was led to fame after their hit “Laffy Taffy” found its way to Billboard Hot 100 in 2006. Aside from his group’s success, Shawty Lo also found success as a solo artist after his hit, “Dey Know” reached #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 list as well. Shawty Lo leaves behind 11 children, his Down 4 Life group members, fans, friends, and family. Loved by millennials for the infamous lyrics, “He say he from the Westside. Well Goddamn! It must be two sides,” he will truly be missed.
